Are the food probe and pit probe interchangeable?

Yes, if you damage your pit probe and in a pinch, you can use the food probe to cook. Remove the Cayman clip from the tip of the pit probe, push it onto the food probe and plug the food probe into the pit jack. These probes are exactly the same except for the shape and length of the probe tip.
