Shake Your Ash Turbograte With the Shake Your Ash (SYA) Turbograte, you will have a super mean grilling machine! The new SYA Turbograte was engineered by The BBQ Guru to be a direct replacement for the ceramic or cast iron grates found in ceramic cookers of all types. It is a drastic improvement over the original grate.

The technical term for the SYA Turbograte is a Turbulator.

Turbulator: A device that improves air flow to spin or mix air and gases. It is laser cut of heavy gauge Stainless Steel for years of trouble free service. It overcomes a number of challenges that are encountered when cooking with ceramics. The SYA also helps you to save fuel. To keep charcoal fresh and dry always, after fueling your cooker, roll the top of the bag, tight, and seal it with a strong Spring Clip. Place the bag in a dry place away from rain or dew. Charcoal is somewhat deliquescent and will literally soak up moisture from the air over time if not protected. This is often a major part of the cause when the cooker "just won't get up to temperature". A clogged "original equipment" grate will also contribute heavily to this dilemma. The SYA Turbograte resists clogging much longer than an OEM grate.

Note: The use of a BBQ Guru control alone can save 25-30% of the fuel you would normally use.

Hint: to save even more fuel, always start your fire with fresh, very dry, charcoal. Questionable or damp charcoal can then be placed on top and will be dried by the hot coals, with no waste of fuel.

* Trexing (TEE-rexing) is credited to Jason Faulkner who made this cooking method popular. It is the process of grilling at a very high temperature for 90 seconds on both sides, then letting the meat rest to redistribute the juices.
