Shotgun Fred’s Light & Fluffy Buttermilk No – Measure Buscuits
- Start with a bowl of self rising dough or Bisquick®
- Make a “well” in the center of the dough/Bisquick®
- Pour in buttermilk and ½ shot of apple cider vinegar
- Add ½ cup of Crisco or 1 stick of butter
- Use 1 hand to mash and knead (in one direction) into a ball of dough that has the consistency of biscuit dough
- Thoroughly clean hand
- Remove the dough ball to a floured cutting board or cloth
- Roll out to ½” thickness and cut biscuits with a biscuit cutter or drinking glass of your desired size
- Placed on a greased tray and bake at 450°F for about 15 minutes or until golden brown
